I loved this book! It was just the perfect amount of spooky/creepy/adventurous/halloweeny. It follows Emilia, a witch who finds her twin sister Vittoria has been murdered so she sets about seeking revenge by using dark magic to summon one of the princes of hell getting more than she bargained for. Wrath is nothing and everything like the wicked stories her Nonna told her about as a child and they form an alliance to discover who has been killing witches on her island to track down who is responsible for her sister's death. Set in Palermo, Italy the descriptions in this book made me want to travel so badly and don't even get me started on the food descriptions. Holy Cannoli was I hungry every time I picked up this book. I had no idea what this book was about going in to it, I just knew I wanted to read it because Nina Lacour writes such beautiful stories. This book follows Mila, a young girl who has aged out of the foster system and been given the opportunity to live and work on an isolated farm with other kids and adults who have also been through traumatic experiences like herself.  This book goes back and forth through Mila's memories of the past and her present and you see her find the family she needs. This book is also paranormal which I was not expecting (this is what happens when you don't read the summary) but I absolutely loved that. It really fit with the vibe of the book. Nina has such a way with words and creating atmospheres that this book truly feels like a cold autumn day. Every time I picked up this book, I was transported to a cold gloomy day and I just wanted to curl up with something warm. This book was absolute perfection! I laughed, I cried, I laugh cried, you get the idea. I wish this book had been longer or that there is a sequel on the way because I need to hear more about Kimi's life. I need to know what happens next. I'm so invested in her life and her family. Plus the way the author describes food and art in this...oh my! This book follows Kimi and her realisation that perhaps she doesn't love art as much as she thought she did or as much as her mother does. She loves clothes! She loves creating clothes, wearing clothes, transforming clothes, basically anything to do with clothes she loves it. Her mother just does not understand and thinks Kimi is wasting her time when she should be focusing on working on her portfolio for the prestigious art academy she has been accepted to. First of let me say that I loved this book! It had everything I could ever want in a book. A road trip, a treasure hunt of sorts, a soft boy and a couple of my favourite tropes. Oh look there is only one room left in this hotel and only one bed in this room. Can you say swoon! This book was so fun but it wasn't all good times and happiness, in fact it mostly wasn't either of those things. This book follows Ali, whose absent father has passed away and left her with his prized possession, a 1968 firebird convertible. Ali plans on selling the car in the hopes that the money will be enough to save her childhood home from being repossessed. She finds a buyer who offers her enough money however he lives 300 miles away and she can't drive a stick shift. Imagine Me is the last book in the Shatter Me series. I think. What was once a trilogy ended up getting another 3 books in the series so it could be possible for her to add more books in this series and I have to say I wouldn't be mad about it. While I enjoyed the first 3 books in the series, I think the series picked up for me in these last 3 books. I loved them with my entire heart! This last book was so action packed for such a short novel, at least it felt short to me. I read this book in its entirety in one day. It was just so easy to read and had me turning the pages to see what happens next. I felt like this book followed mostly Kenji's perspective even though the chapters were split evenly between Juliette and Kenji. I also fell in love with Warner even more in this book and that epilogue was everything.  I highly recommend picking up this series if you haven't already! Tahereh Mafi's writing is just so beautiful and deserves more people reading it...

Firstly, I loved this book! It was just so so good and exactly what I needed. I flew through this and immediately added a bunch of Jenn Bennett books to my TBR. Her stories are just so...and her writing...I love! Secondly this book made me want to go camping. My idea of camping is a 2 star hotel...just kidding...or am I... Anyway, Jenn Bennett's writing makes you feel things and not just emotions. I felt like I was right there with Zorrie and Lennon in the wilderness, I could practically smell nature coming off the pages and honestly it just made me feel calm and at peace with the world. Nature will do that to you. So will good writing. Thirdly imagine being stuck in the woods with the guy you hate but actually secretly love...yeah - this story is just straight up fabulous and deals with a lot more than you would expect. Also the parents in this (except for one - you know who you are) are just *chefs kiss.* In conclusion, this book is amazing and you should pick it up...

What a fun quick read this was! I love Emma Mills's writing so I was really looking forward to reading this and it did not disappoint.  It follows Nina who joins a radio broadcasting class in her final year of high school where she ends up in a group with her neighbour/childhood friend Jamie. Someone who she has been avoiding for the past few years because of an incident that happened when they were younger. Nothing seems to be going right her, the radio show is a disaster, her mother is getting remarried which means a lot of changes and she has to spend a lot of time with Jamie, who she may or may not still care about. I loved the relationship Nina had with her sisters, they joked around and annoyed each other but were ultimately there for each other whenever they needed each other. It was a very realistic portrayal of sisters. I also loved their sarcasm and humour. I liked how, yes this book was about a radio show but also so much more. Every character had a side sto...

One Of Us Is Next is the sequel to One Of  Us Is Lying . It doesn't follow the same cast of characters but they do appear throughout the novel. I found that this one was more predictable to me than the first one but it still had a nice little twist at the end that you don't see coming. My only fault with this book is that I wished we could have seen more of what happened at the end after that last twist but I guess that just means I was fully invested in the characters and wasn't read to leave them yet which is the sign of a good book. In this novel, the teens at Bayview are sent a truth or dare game. Once you are selected you have 24 hours to accept your dare or else a truth about you will be revealed. This was such a fun premise for this book and was the reason why I couldn't wait to read this book. The Boy Next Story is the second book in the Bookish Boyfriends series. The premise of these books is the main character (usually a female and somehow connected to the main character in the previous story) is set a book to read by the 'magical' English teacher for extra credit and they soon find that their lives follow the path of the character in the novel they are reading. These books are honestly a lot of fun and feature a swoon-worthy romance that will have you adding another bookish boyfriend to your every growing list. This book in particular follows Rory (the younger sister of the previous book's main character) and her struggles coping at her new school Hero High and her heartache with being in love with the boy next door who only seems to have eyes for her sister. Rory is an artist who has a lot of anxiety and feels like she doesn't fit in anywhere - at home or at school. The only times she feels seen and heard are around Toby (the boy next door) t...

I finally made it to the last book in this epic series and wow what a ride it was! So many things happened over the course of this series and there were so many characters I came to love/hate. Overall this entire series was a wild ride that had me feeling so many things from, hate to love, happiness to sadness. This last book was everything. I really enjoyed where she went with the story line and the characters, however I did feel that certain characters deserved better, yes even the ones I said I didn't like in the past. The best part of this book was when the different groups started to meet up with each other. I loved seeing the little reunions, it made my heart very happy. I kind of wish there was another book so that I can live in this world a little longer but I definitely feel that theses characters have been through more than enough and deserve some peace and quiet so when I am missing them, then I will just reread the series. Tower of Dawn follows the perspective of Chaol as he travels to the southern continent to see if he can heal his injury as well as recruit the Khagan to help assist in the war. I wasn't sure how I would feel about this book as I was eager to continue with Aelin's journey and story line to see what happened next but I loved this so much! I loved all the new characters, Irene the healer especially. I like that we had already met her in the Assassin's Blade and that now we got to see her story play out. Borte one of the Ruk riders was especially hilarious and I wouldn't mind a spin of series of her adventures. I feel her and Aelin would be fast friends and can't wait to see if they will actually meet.  I flew through this book. Jay and Amie have done it again. They have created another sci-fi that I will love and cherish forever. A none too small feat for someone who rarely likes or reads sci-fi. Aurora Rising follows a group of misfits in the year 2380 on their first space mission.  Tyler Jones is the golden boy squad leader, who the night before he is to pick the squad of his dreams inadvertently finds himself rescuing Aurora (Auri) a girl that has been trapped in interdimensional space in a cryo-sleep for 2 centuries and misses the draft and finds himself stuck with the dregs of the academy. Making up the sorry excuse for squad 312 is  Scarlett, sarcastic twin sister of Tyler, a sweet talker who is as gorgeous as her brother and has the ex boyfriends to show it.  Cat, tomboy pilot who is definitely not in love with her best friend Tyler.  Zila a genius sociopath who is a little too trigger happy with her stun gun around her squad mates.  Fin, grumpy tech ...

In Empire of Storms, our rag tag group of friends are on their way to gather an army to defeat Erawan. I loved seeing them all work together even when they were trying not to kill one another. It finally started to feel like all the pieces were coming together, right up until the ending when it all went to hell.  I don't even know how to feel about that ending. It makes me question how she is going to end this series. Will she break my heart...probably. I'm not ready but also dying to finding out. I loved seeing the interaction between all the different characters in this group. Also loved seeing some old characters come back into the story. Manon is also certainly starting to grow on me which is something I never thought I would say but here we are.  The next book in the series is told through Chaol's perspective and is a parallel novel to Empire of Storms so it looks like I will be waiting a while to see how this series wraps up. Unravel Me ended on quite the cliffhanger. Omega Point was destroyed. Juliette almost died. Are any of the rebels even alive? Is Adam?! Juliette doesn't know but she will not stop at trying to take down the Restablishment once and for all. So much like book two I decided to read the novella that proceeds this book, Fracture Me which is told through the perspective of Adam and much like I predicted, I hate him now!! Warner for the win!! Adam is truly draining in this book. He is only really out for himself and his younger brother. He doesn't care about anyone else and I wanted to reach through the pages and punch him in the face. Seeing his actual feelings when he believes Juliette is dead is like a slap in the face. He only gets worse in Ignite Me! Like the first two books, this mainly focuses on the romance side of things and the real action of the story happens in the last few chapters and honestly ends rather abruptly in my opinion.  Had this been the real last ...

Unravel Me picks up where Shatter Me left off. Juliette and Adam have joined the group of rebels and help in fighting against the Restablishment. Juliette with the help of some new friends who she learns have powers of their own is learning to control her powers when Warner is suddenly back in the picture. I read the novella Destroy Me which follows the perspective of Warner right after the events of the first book and I truly think I would not have enjoyed Unravel Me as much as I did if I hadn't read it first. You get more insight into Warner and learn that he is not the evil dictator that you once believed he was so that when you get to chapter 62 you die of all the feels and not think umm ok where did that come from. Tahereh Mafi has a way making you hate a character and then love them in the next installment and vice versa in a way that is realistic and not have you thinking oh I suddenly have to love this character because the main character likes them or where the ...

This is the last installment of the Caraval series and man is it a bittersweet one. I love this series with all my heart and cannot believe it has ended! I love this entire world and the wonderful cast of characters, so as much as I loved this book I'm also sad that this series has ended. There will be no more new things to discover about this world in the future.  Finale picks up a couple of months after the events of Legendary. The fates have been released from the deck of destiny and Legend has claimed the throne.  Unlike the first two books, there is no game in this one. Everything is very much real. There is no Caraval, just real events and real consequences. This is also told in dual perspective, from Tella and Scarlet's point of views which I think just wraps up both sister's stories nicely. You can get to see both their perspectives and both of their endings. I loved meeting the new cast of characters in this story, the fates truly deserve their own book...

What a wild ride this book ended up being. Some characters I didn't care for in previous books I ended up really liking and some characters I loved in previous books I ended up not particularly caring about anymore. Sarah J Maas has an amazing ability of making you love a character and by the next book you hate them. Just read the first 2 books in her Court of Thorns and Roses series to understand what I mean. So this book picks up where the last left off. Celeana is back in Rifthold to kill the king of assassins and claim her birthright. Naturally that would be too easy, so many things go wrong and it is disaster after disaster. We meets some new characters in this book which at this point should probably be hard to keep track off but each character is so different from another that it's easy to keep track of everyone. However, unlike the first 3 books I will say by the end of this book I was definitely feeling hopeful, like things were on the right track to a happ...

The Assassin's Blade comprises of 5 novellas set before the Throne of Glass series stars. While this is supposed to be read before Throne of Glass I'm glad that I waited to read it part way through the series as I feel like I know who Celeana is and it's interesting to see a little of how she got to be who she was. I feel that if I had read it before the first book I would have been confused.  Through the 5 novellas you get to meet Sam, Celeana's first love and how they went from hate to love. You also find out more about Arobynn and his character. There is also a cast of characters as she travels from remote islands to the red desert, some that you will love and some that you will hate.  This book is a whirlwind of emotions and I can't wait to continue on with the series!

So the premise of this book sounded like it would be a fun quick read, a home-schooled girl who has a crush on her neighbour and spies on him through her bedroom window finally gets her chance to go to public school and come face to face with her crush. Fun right! Well it was that and so much more! The first three quarters of the book was Mallory navigating through high school for the first time, making new friends, and finding out that Troy, her neighbour and crush is not what he appears. I loved the scenes between Mallory and Troy, the back and forth, the hate he appears to have for her but then all the times when she ever needs him there he is. They made my heart swoon! The last quarter of the book was a wild slightly dark ride indeed! It had me on the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen next and I definitely couldn't put the book down and it was not what I was expecting but I loved it! In Heir of Fire we learn a lot more about Celaena and her heritage and we meet an array of new characters. While this series is quickly becoming one of my favourites, I have to admit I did not love this book as much as I liked the other two and that was mainly because of the addition of Manon and the other witches. I found the scenes with them tedious and it made me want to put the book down.  I did love the other new characters that were included especially Rowan and this book had some beautiful quotes in it. 'I claim you to whatever end,' 'She would bow to no one' and 'and then I am going to rattle the stars.'  I feel as the series goes on more and more trouble is around the corner. Like you think OK they just need to solve this crises and then everything will be OK but then something worse happens and then something even worse. If you think you know where Sarah J Maas is going with the story then you are wrong, there are twists and turns around ...
