Queen of Air and Darkness - Cassandra Clare Review

You can catch up on my reviews of the first 2 here : Finally we have to come the last book in the Dark Artifices series and I must say this series ended incredibly well. It continues on straight after the second book and to be perfectly honest I had forgotten what the cliffhanger was in book 2 because I had put it out of my mind as it was just too upsetting but it all came flooding back within the first page. This whole novel was a wild ride from start to finish. Seeing how the Blackthorn family deals with grief and Emma and Julian fighting their parabatai curse while trying to stop the Clave from the brink of war. We see a lot of familiar faces in this novel which is always a good thing and we also meet a few new ones which is always interesting. I wondered how Cassandra Clare was going to solve the parabatai curse as well as the love triangles she is known for but once again she does an amazing job at tying things up and having characters end up with who they are su...

Lord of Shadows - Cassandra Clare Review

This is the second novel in the Dark Artifices series and it was just as good as the first one. I think I've enjoyed this series more than the Mortal Instruments and also the Infernal Devices. There is just something about Emma and the Blackthorn family that has me hooked. I would say that if you are planning on reading this then maybe wait until the third book in the series is released as this book ends in a BIG cliffhanger and the next book isn't going to be released until 2019!!!! I don't even know where to begin describing this book as there is so much happening within the storyline and nothing gets resolved and I have to say that I still do not know where she is going with this series but I think she will weave the 'The Eldest Curses' (another series) she is planning on doing into the mix like she did with the Mortal Instruments and the Infernal Devices. As much as I love the Mortal Instruments series/spinoffs I kind of wish I had waited for her to c...

Lady Midnight - Cassandra Clare Review

This is the first novel in the Dark Artifices series. I believe it will be a trilogy but I am not 100% sure. It follows Emma Carstairs, a character that was introduced in the last book of the Mortal Instruments. Emma is trying to track down her parents' killer with the help of the Balckthorn family, however she soon discovers something more sinister going on. This is a typical Cassandra Clare novel, full of Shadowhunters, Parabatai, forbidden love and love triangles.  While I am not really one who enjoys love triangles as I find them boring and repetitive, I really enjoyed this one.  Emma and Julian are incredibly adorable but at the same time, Mark is such an interesting character that I loved reading about and I think Emma and Mark make an interesting dynamic. I am interested to see how it will play out in the end. I'm not sure where Ms Clare is going with the story aside from the love triangle but I am interested to see what she does with the story. ...
