I loved this book! It was just the perfect amount of spooky/creepy/adventurous/halloweeny. It follows Emilia, a witch who finds her twin sister Vittoria has been murdered so she sets about seeking revenge by using dark magic to summon one of the princes of hell getting more than she bargained for. Wrath is nothing and everything like the wicked stories her Nonna told her about as a child and they form an alliance to discover who has been killing witches on her island to track down who is responsible for her sister's death. Set in Palermo, Italy the descriptions in this book made me want to travel so badly and don't even get me started on the food descriptions. Holy Cannoli was I hungry every time I picked up this book. Infinity Son is Adam Silvera's first fantasy novel and it is truly magical, I mean there are phoenixes and honestly that just one of the many reasons to pick up this novel. It's fast paced and quick and easy to read. While most fantasy novels start of slowly and can leave you confused while the author explains the magic system and world, Infinity Son begins with a bang and things just keep escalating from there. While this is an urban fantasy and not a high fantasy, the magic system is quite involved and you piece together bits and pieces throughout the novel about its history which honestly makes it easier to absorb than reading about it all in one hit. I loved how even though it's a fantasy novel, there are references to Youtube and Instagram, among other things and it honestly just makes the story more fun in my opinion. I finally made it to the last book in this epic series and wow what a ride it was! So many things happened over the course of this series and there were so many characters I came to love/hate. Overall this entire series was a wild ride that had me feeling so many things from, hate to love, happiness to sadness. This last book was everything. I really enjoyed where she went with the story line and the characters, however I did feel that certain characters deserved better, yes even the ones I said I didn't like in the past. The best part of this book was when the different groups started to meet up with each other. I loved seeing the little reunions, it made my heart very happy. I kind of wish there was another book so that I can live in this world a little longer but I definitely feel that theses characters have been through more than enough and deserve some peace and quiet so when I am missing them, then I will just reread the series. Tower of Dawn follows the perspective of Chaol as he travels to the southern continent to see if he can heal his injury as well as recruit the Khagan to help assist in the war. I wasn't sure how I would feel about this book as I was eager to continue with Aelin's journey and story line to see what happened next but I loved this so much! I loved all the new characters, Irene the healer especially. I like that we had already met her in the Assassin's Blade and that now we got to see her story play out. Borte one of the Ruk riders was especially hilarious and I wouldn't mind a spin of series of her adventures. I feel her and Aelin would be fast friends and can't wait to see if they will actually meet.  I flew through this book. I think I read it faster than any of the others and once again I am a huge Chaol fan, don't know what I was thinking saying I wasn't sure I liked him anymore.  Can't wait to read the epic conclusion to the series! 5 o...

In Empire of Storms, our rag tag group of friends are on their way to gather an army to defeat Erawan. I loved seeing them all work together even when they were trying not to kill one another. It finally started to feel like all the pieces were coming together, right up until the ending when it all went to hell.  I don't even know how to feel about that ending. It makes me question how she is going to end this series. Will she break my heart...probably. I'm not ready but also dying to finding out. I loved seeing the interaction between all the different characters in this group. Also loved seeing some old characters come back into the story. Manon is also certainly starting to grow on me which is something I never thought I would say but here we are.  The next book in the series is told through Chaol's perspective and is a parallel novel to Empire of Storms so it looks like I will be waiting a while to see how this series wraps up.     The Remnant Chronicles is a trilogy following Princess Lia, First Daughter who should have the gift of sight.  The first book, The Kiss of Deception starts with Lia about to be wed to a prince she has never met to secure and alliance between two kingdoms, She flees on the morning of her wedding day and starts a new life in a distant village. Unbeknownst to her, the jilted prince sets out to find her. An assassin is also sent out to kill her. The pair show up in the village where Lia has made her new life and Lia soon starts to fall in love with one of them. The best part about this book is the fact that you don;t know who the prince is and who the assassin is. You are in the dark as much as Lia. The novel is a whole lot of fun trying to work it out until it is revealed. The second and third books, The Heart of Betrayal and The Beauty of Darkness are a whirlwind of drama. Unravel Me picks up where Shatter Me left off. Juliette and Adam have joined the group of rebels and help in fighting against the Restablishment. Juliette with the help of some new friends who she learns have powers of their own is learning to control her powers when Warner is suddenly back in the picture. I read the novella Destroy Me which follows the perspective of Warner right after the events of the first book and I truly think I would not have enjoyed Unravel Me as much as I did if I hadn't read it first. You get more insight into Warner and learn that he is not the evil dictator that you once believed he was so that when you get to chapter 62 you die of all the feels and not think umm ok where did that come from. Tahereh Mafi has a way making you hate a character and then love them in the next installment and vice versa in a way that is realistic and not have you thinking oh I suddenly have to love this character because the main character likes them or where the ...

This is the last installment of the Caraval series and man is it a bittersweet one. I love this series with all my heart and cannot believe it has ended! I love this entire world and the wonderful cast of characters, so as much as I loved this book I'm also sad that this series has ended. There will be no more new things to discover about this world in the future.  Finale picks up a couple of months after the events of Legendary. The fates have been released from the deck of destiny and Legend has claimed the throne.  Unlike the first two books, there is no game in this one. Everything is very much real. There is no Caraval, just real events and real consequences. This is also told in dual perspective, from Tella and Scarlet's point of views which I think just wraps up both sister's stories nicely. You can get to see both their perspectives and both of their endings. I loved meeting the new cast of characters in this story, the fates truly deserve their own book...

What a wild ride this book ended up being. Some characters I didn't care for in previous books I ended up really liking and some characters I loved in previous books I ended up not particularly caring about anymore. Sarah J Maas has an amazing ability of making you love a character and by the next book you hate them. Just read the first 2 books in her Court of Thorns and Roses series to understand what I mean. So this book picks up where the last left off. Celeana is back in Rifthold to kill the king of assassins and claim her birthright. Naturally that would be too easy, so many things go wrong and it is disaster after disaster. We meets some new characters in this book which at this point should probably be hard to keep track off but each character is so different from another that it's easy to keep track of everyone. However, unlike the first 3 books I will say by the end of this book I was definitely feeling hopeful, like things were on the right track to a happ...

The Assassin's Blade comprises of 5 novellas set before the Throne of Glass series stars. While this is supposed to be read before Throne of Glass I'm glad that I waited to read it part way through the series as I feel like I know who Celeana is and it's interesting to see a little of how she got to be who she was. I feel that if I had read it before the first book I would have been confused.  Through the 5 novellas you get to meet Sam, Celeana's first love and how they went from hate to love. You also find out more about Arobynn and his character. There is also a cast of characters as she travels from remote islands to the red desert, some that you will love and some that you will hate.  This book is a whirlwind of emotions and I can't wait to continue on with the series!

In Heir of Fire we learn a lot more about Celaena and her heritage and we meet an array of new characters. While this series is quickly becoming one of my favourites, I have to admit I did not love this book as much as I liked the other two and that was mainly because of the addition of Manon and the other witches. I found the scenes with them tedious and it made me want to put the book down.  I did love the other new characters that were included especially Rowan and this book had some beautiful quotes in it. 'I claim you to whatever end,' 'She would bow to no one' and 'and then I am going to rattle the stars.'  I feel as the series goes on more and more trouble is around the corner. Like you think OK they just need to solve this crises and then everything will be OK but then something worse happens and then something even worse. If you think you know where Sarah J Maas is going with the story then you are wrong, there are twists and turns around ...

Wow what an ending! I still can't believe it! I'm dying to pick up the next book to find out what happens next in this series but I told myself I would only read on book per month of this series so it is going to be a long wait! If you are planning on reading this series don't do what I'm doing coz you will be dying to pick up the next book! Crown of Midnight follows shortly after Throne of Glass ending. Celaena has been given her first assignments for the king, kill or be killed.  Celaena is such an interesting character. An assassin who also has a conscious. She is nothing like you would expect and seems to do the unexpected so it is really interesting reading about her. You never know what she will do next. While I felt the first book had a lot more of Prince Dorian in it, this book was full of Chaol and I loved it! I love him and I definitely love him with Celaena. I do love the friendship Celaena has with Prince Dorian but I love the relationship she...

Shatter Me follows Juliette, a girl whose touch is lethal and who was locked away by the Reestablishment 3 years ago. Suddenly they have changed their mind and have decided she is just what they need. A new weapon they can control. The novel is so beautifully written, full of metaphors and similes, it reads like poetry.  Tahereh Mafi does such an amazing job, you can practically feel Juliette's pain through the pages. I did feel like this novel wasn't long enough. I'm not sure how I feel about most characters, I don't feel much attachment to them yet but I assume that will change during the course of this series. I loved the story line though, or at least where I think it is going. There wasn't too much going on in this book until the end when it started to get really good so I definitely can't wait to pick up the next one and dive into the world and it's characters. I gave this 4 out of 5 stars!

So I finally got around to starting this series and I have to admit, I wish I hadn't waited so long to start. I love this series so far! It follows Celaena Sardothien, 18 year old assassin fighting for her freedom by competing to become the King's royal assassin. I loved everything about this book. I love the writing, I love the cast of characters, I love the world and of course the actual story line. Celaena is such a strong female character and I wish I was as cool as she is. I love how she can kill anyone in the blink of an eye but at the same time has a soft side and people want to protect her. Prince Dorian is the sweetest little treasure, I hope he stays that way. Chaol might have been my second favourite character because he is so much like Celaena, a badass who is a big ol softie that deserves all the hugs. Where do I even begin with this review. I loved this book! LOVED!! I didn't think I could love this book more than Caraval  but here we are. Legendary picks up right where Caraval ended only this time it follows, Tella, Scarlet's sister as she attempts to play Caraval in order to find the identity of Legend.  Tella has made a deal with a 'friend' to get her mother back in exchange for Ledend's real name so we are thrown back into the game of Caraval only this time it might be real and not just a game. Wow was this book a ride and a half! Stephanie Garber's writing is truly magical. I don't even know how to describe it, it's truly beautiful and unlike anything else I have read. I listened to the audiobook for this one as I absolutely loved Rebecca Soler's reading of Caraval so I decided to continue on with this series by listening to the audiobooks. Book 2 in the Lady Janies series is a Jane Eyre retelling and is truly wonderful! I thought I loved the first book in the series My Lady Jane  but I think I love this one even more! My Plain Jane follows the life of Jane Eyre and her friend Charlotte Bronte (I know right, it couldn't get any better!) Just like the first book, this book is funny and weird and all kinds of amazing! It also has a surprising modern feel for a book set in the Victorian era just like the last one. If you like Jane Eyre, you will love this book. Think Jane Eyre meets Ghostbusters with a tiny hint of Harry Potter (conveniently located on page 394), Lord of the Rings and the Princess Bride!  Run, don't walk to get you hands on this book!

This is the stunning conclusion in Eleanor Herman's epic tale of the balance of fate and free will. I loved this series and in particular I loved this book the most! Eleanor Herman does a fantastic job of blending fiction and facts with a sprinkling of fantasy. Not only does she make you feel for all he characters but you can actually see her version as being the true reality of how things might have been.  This last novel focuses on our gang of heroes' final battle against the spirit eaters. All questions are answered and you will honestly be turning the pages to see how things will end and more importantly where she will end the story of Alexander. I will truly miss this world and wish there was more to read. I will definitely be revisiting this world in the future and can see myself loving the books just a little more with each re-read. Reign of Serpents has quite possibly been my least favourite in the series so far. It was incredibly slow moving and definitely not enough of Hephaestion for my liking but not a bad book. We are introduced to a couple of new characters this book and I have to admit I really enjoy the character of Pythia and would love to see a set of novels following her as she seems like an interesting character. I really enjoyed seeing how the prophecy from book 2 would play out and I have to admit some things I saw coming and others were a fun twist I did not see coming. Nothing is really resolved in this novel but I did enjoy how this book ended as it wasn't as big a cliffhanger as the last one. Will the last and final book answer all the questions? Will Heph and Alex finally realise their love for one another? Will Kat and Jacob reunite? Will Cynane finally get the recognition she deserves? Will Zofia finally get her happy every after? Who knows? I can't wait to pick up the ...
