Save The Date - Morgan Matson Review

Save the Date has been one of my most anticipated releases of 2018 so I couldn't wait to get my hands on it. It follows Charlie, the youngest member of the Grant family looking forward to one perfect weekend with her siblings before her family house is sold and things change forever. Her older sister is getting married and everyone is back at home to help with the preparations but things don't go as planned. Anything that could possibly go wrong does and then some.

I'm sad to say that this is my least favourite of Morgan Matson's books. It's not bad, however I just feel that this would have been better as a movie. I didn't find it funny how so many things kept going wrong with the wedding, it felt kinda chaotic and honestly I was just annoyed by the end of it. However I feel that this would have worked on the big screen. This would have been really funny to watch, however it just didn't work in book form for me.

What I did really love about this book is the relationships between the siblings and honestly wished this book focused on that more because they were just amazing!! I loved how they were always there for each other and their interactions were heartwarming and made me wish I had grown up in a big family. Morgan Matson really knows how to write family scenes.

I also really loved that characters from one of her previous books was mentioned. I love that her characters live in the same world. I won't mention which character or which book because it was honestly a nice surprise when I came across it!

The other thing I really loved about this book was the comic strip included that focused on the Grant family but I wished there was more of it. It would have been great to have had it included at the beginning of every chapter.

A fun weekend read for anyone who isn't just about to get married and scared that things might not go to plan!

Thank you to Simon & Schuster and NetGalley for providing me with an e-arc in exchange for an honest review.
