When Dimple Met Rishi - Sandhya Menon Review

Image
This was actually the cutest story and had me laughing throughout the whole book. Note to anyone listening to the audiobook. Do not listen on public transport because you won't be able to help grinning like a fool and laughing out loud. This novel follows Dimple, whose parent's goal in life is to marry her off to the Ideal Indian Husband but all Dimple is interested in is starting school at Stanford and hoping that her parents will let her attend a summer program for web developing. Imagine her surprise when they agree. Rishi, a hopeless romantic, can't wait to have a love like his parents. Rishi believes in tradition and can't wait till his parents arrange his marriage for him. So when his parents tell him that his potential future wife will be attending a summer program for web developing, Rishi is all in! From Dimple and Rishi's first meeting I knew that I would love this book so much! Not only is it hilarious but it is a fun quick read. Dimple an

Grimms Manga Tales - Kei Ishiyama Review

I received an arc of this from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. This Manga is a collection of Grimm's Fairy tales with a twist. While I love all things fairy tales I just couldn't get into this one like I wanted. I felt all the stories were just too short. If you are looking for a quick read then this is for you.You can read this entirely in 1 hour.  The illustrations in this are beautiful and detailed, worth buying for that alone.  While I haven't read the original versions of all these tales, the ones I had read, I enjoyed her twist on them. This has inspired me to read the original versions of the stories I hadn't heard before. This book will be available from the 28th November 2017.

The Mindful Way To A Good Night's Sleep - Tzivia Gover Review

Image
I read this book over the span of a week, right before going to bed and I have noticed a slight improvement in my sleeping already. To fully get the benefits of this book, I think you need to constantly work at all the advice given even though some of the advice can be hard to do for some people like me ie. not using any electronics before going to bed. This book is split up into sections going through why getting a good night's sleep is beneficial, understanding your dreams and why we dream and how that affects our sleep to steps on how to actually get a good night's sleep. I really enjoyed the journaling prompts given as well as the step by step guide to meditating. I marked a lot of pages to look back on such as the breathing exercises which I found very helpful to help me in the future. I also thought the sleep/dream quotes scattered throughout this book was a nice touch.
