February 2017 TBR!

Image
My TBR for February is extremely ambitious seeing as how the month only has 28 days but we will see how I go: So obviously I have not finished the Complete Works of Shakespeare in January. Not even half way though so that is going on the list: Then the 2 books that are coming out in February that I am looking forward to are also going on the list: I have been putting off reading the Shadowhunter Chronicles so I plan to read the Mortal Instruments and the Infernal Devices this month as well: And just incase that wasn't enough I thought I would add these 3 as well: So there you have it. A grand total of 15 books I plan to read in February. Probably won't get through half of them but I am optomistic!

Next to Never - Penelope Douglas (Fall Away #4.5)

This novella is number 4.5 in the Fall Away series. The main character is the sister of Jarod, Madoc and Jax, 3 characters who you meet in the previous books. Next to Never introduces her to the series, however this novella is not her love story. This story is about the next generation while also giving the reader some insight into background history of previous characters. This novella sets up the rest of the series to come. There is a story within this story which I really enjoyed the concept of. It's not every day that you read a book that has a book in it. What I have read about the new generation so far has been promosing and I can't wait til she writes the next book in the series. Not sure how I felt about the love story included (like I mentioned it is not the main characters love story) but it does explain in previous books, 2 characters that I didn't quite understand how they ended up together. If you have not read the first 4 books in the series and don&

'Just One Day' by Gayle Forman review

I am so glad this is the first book I decided to read in 2017 as it will most likely be in my top 5 books of 2017. This book is about a girl who is on the last day of her holiday tour overseas and decides at the last minute to see a differnet Shakespeare play than the one her tour mates are about to see. At the play she meets a boy who changes her whole outlook on life. She impulisviely agrees to spend one day with him to go to Paris (part of the tour that she had been looking forward to previously but had been cancelled due to a strike happening at the time) and this begins her journey of self discovery. I had recently just got back from a trip where I didn't really have the best time and just thinking about travelling again was definitely not something I was thinking about or looking forward to.  However, after reading this book it has put me in the mood to travel again. Gayle Forman paints such a picture when she writes that I felt like I was there with the characters exp

'Worth It' by S.M. Shade & C.M. Owens Review

This novel was hilarious! Funny from the beginnig all the way to the end! It's about 3 best friends who travel to Florida to go to the wedding of the ex-boyfriend of the 'good' girl of their group who cheated on her to be with his current fiance. They decide to get revenge on the couple by playing a few pranks on the bride and groom leading up to the wedding but of course nothing goes to plan. It focuses mainly on the two 'bad' girls and is told from a dual perspective. Every chapter will have you laughing your head off, from panty flashing, butt stinging jellyfish to dominatrix strippers who like to take things too far. My favourite scene was definitely the duck scene (yes this book has ducks, just in case it wasn't amazing enough already). I laughed so hard I couldn't breathe during that scene. I can honestly say I have never laughed so hard in another book in my life. I have read books by C.M. Owens before and I really enjoyed them but I have never

2017 Reading Goals

My main reading goal for 2017 is to read 100 books. This should be doable as I have read more in previous years, however last year I only managed to read 93. I also have a few other goals within this. I plan to finish all the books on my bookshelf, which currently stands at 12 unread books. However, one of them is the complete works of Shakespeare which is one BIG book. I hope to at least complete this by June. The only other goal I have is to reread the entire Harry Potter series. I will keep you updated on my progress during the year. What are your reading goals for 2017?

Top 5 books I read in 2016

Image
So I read a lot of books in 2016 and I have narrowed it down to my top 5. Not all these books were published in 2016. So in no particular order here are my top 5. 1.        The Count of Monte Cristo - Alexandre Dumas This book had been on my TBR pile since the TV show 'Revenge' came out and I heard that it was based on the book. I finally got around to reading it and I wish I had read it sooner. This book is definitely in my top 10 favourite books of all time. The main character Edmond Dantes is a jailed for a crime he didn't commit. During his time in prison he learns about an island (Monte Cristo) and all the treasure hidden on it so he plans on breaking out, finding the treasures and using it to bring down the people responsible for putting him in prison. If you ever dreamed of getting revenge on someone, then read this book as plotting revenge is harder work than you think. 2.        Gone with The Wind - Margaret Mitchell This
