End of Year Book Tag!


1. Are there any books you started this year that you need to finish?

 I definitely need to finish Renegades by Marissa Myer as I am only 150 pages into it and there are not that many days left until the end of the year. I am finding this book slow going for some reason.

 2. Do you have an autumnal book to transition into the end of the year?

 Since I live in Australia and it is summer at the end of the year this question should probably be do you have a spring book and since I am doing this tag really late it probably isn't even relevant any more so I am just going to say maybe a Kasie West book. I feel they are good summer time books to read.

 3. Is there any new release that you are waiting for?

 With how late I am doing this tag I don't think there are any books coming out in the next week or so at least not that I am aware of.

 4. What are 3 books you want to read before the end of the year?

 I want to read A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J Maas, Lucky in Love by Kasie West and The Belles by Dhonielle Clayton.

 5. Is there a book that could still shock you that could become your favourite of the year?

 I very much doubt there will be a book that will make my favourite this late in the game by who knows.

 6. Have you started making any reading plans for 2018?

 I have made absolutely no plans for any reading goals for next year. I really should get on that. I will definitely make another post once I figure out my goals.

WARNING: Contains some spoilers! Ok so where I do begin! First I should probably explain how BIG of a Pretender fan I am. I basically grew up watching this show. I was 10 when it first aired and I even remember seeing the first advertisement on TV announcing that it was coming on and I was already hooked. After a 30 second ad I knew I needed to watch it. Watching the show was basically my childhood and early teen years. Any chance my sister and I had we would be watching it (we used to record the episodes on VHS - this was before TiVo) and re-watching it and re-watching it. The Mindful Way To A Good Night's Sleep - Tzivia Gover Review

I read this book over the span of a week, right before going to bed and I have noticed a slight improvement in my sleeping already. To fully get the benefits of this book, I think you need to constantly work at all the advice given even though some of the advice can be hard to do for some people like me ie. not using any electronics before going to bed. This book is split up into sections going through why getting a good night's sleep is beneficial, understanding your dreams and why we dream and how that affects our sleep to steps on how to actually get a good night's sleep. I really enjoyed the journaling prompts given as well as the step by step guide to meditating. I marked a lot of pages to look back on such as the breathing exercises which I found very helpful to help me in the future. I also thought the sleep/dream quotes scattered throughout this book was a nice touch.

White Fire (Pendergast series) - Douglas Preston & Lincoln Child Review

I can't tell you how excited I was to read this book. Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child are two of my favourite authors to read and the Pendergast series is one of my all time favourite book series (second only after Harry Potter). White Fire is the thirteenth book in the Pendergast series about FBI Special Agent A.X.L. Pendergast but you do not have to read the previous 12 before you read this book if you do not want to, (I highly recommend it though) you can read it as a stand-alone book. Even though the book is a Pendergast novel, it's mainly told through Corrie Swanson's (Pendergast's protege and first seen in 'Still Life With Crows') point of view. Corrie currently enrolled at John Jay College of Criminal Justice is working on a thesis which takes her to 'Roaring Fork' an exclusive ski resort in Colorado to examine the remains of 12 miners who were mauled to death by a bear 150 years previously.
